Cool New Things

Monday, April 24th, 2006

I hope everyone (in WA) has been enjoying the great weather we’ve been having lately. I broke out my shorts yesterday, and have them on again today. Wonderful! :-)

Well I wanted to mention two new things that I’ve discovered in the last week that I thought others might be interested in – Hamachi and Google Calendar. (more…)

House

Friday, April 21st, 2006

Today was pretty sweet as work decided to let me go early. (I did work A LOT of overtime this week – butHouse then again I’m salaried.) Anyways, I got home around 2 or so, and checked the mail. I’d gotten a package from my parents for our anniversary present. I didn’t feel I had to wait for Tobin to get home to open it, so I helped my self, and much to my delight, the gift was the latest book by Ted Dekker and Frank Peretti, House. So I sat down and started reading it around 3 or so, and finished it by 7:30 (372 pages I think). I’m really bad like that though with Ted Dekker’s books. I just can’t put them down! (more…)

Sonics, Squatch & Skit

Monday, April 17th, 2006

[Disclaimer: I tried valiantly to get Tobin to write this post, but eventually I gave up and decided to write this myself.]

Tobin at the Sonics gameLast week was Tobin’s Spring Break. Over break, one of his coworkers’ brothers called. He asked Tobin if he would be willing to do a halftime skit for Friday night’s Sonics game against the Clippers. Tobin agreed.

So basically, on Friday night, we drove down to Key arena where we picked up four free tickets, four press-passes, and a free parking pass. We got to park right next to the Arena and walked in the VIP (courtside) entrance. WOW! We waked around with Mark (the Squatch), and really had a great time. (more…)

Three Years!

Thursday, April 13th, 2006

Yesterday Tobin and I celebrated our third wedding anniversary. Hard to believe it’s been that long! So what did we do to celebrate?3rd Anniversary Well I worked part of a day (got off at 2:30 p.m.), and then headed home to get ready to go out. When I got home, Tobin was making reservations, so I went out and washed and waxed the car. It’s always nice when it’s clean! By the time the car was done, Tobin had reservations, so we went ahead and got ready to go out (reservations were at 5:30). Before we left, I made Tobin take some pictures with me (gotta love my sweet new camera!). Our rhodies are in full bloom in the front yard, so we took some there… See the photo gallery for all our shots from last night. (more…)

Website Craziness

Monday, April 10th, 2006

Wow, what a week. Is it just me or did last week FLY by?! Especially the weekend! Anyways, I thought I’d bring you all up to speed on what I did last week…

First off, Spring Quarter started at City University last week. I’m taking Data Warehousing… Fun stuff. The class is on Monday nights – so it’s nice getting it out of the way first thing in the week. Enough of that.

What do you do for fun and relaxation? Some of you play video games, others read, still others watch TV… Well this last week, I’ve spent all of my free time building websites. It was another week of website craziness for me. (more…)

The Yard

Sunday, April 2nd, 2006

FlowersI was recently having a conversation with a friend about yardwork. Suprisingly enough, I find working on my yard to be rather therapeutic. I tried to explain this to my friend, though I doubt she bought it as she apparently does not like to do yard work. What about you? To those of you with a place of your own, do you like to work in the yard? (more…)

Shot, Sister and Sickness

Family at BallardWow it’s been awhile since I’ve posted… Well for good reason. Life has been very busy, and a bit eventful as of lately. I’ll try to bring you a little up to date…

Last Friday (March 24), my brother Stephen accidentally shot himself in the hand. He was cleaning one of his guns (a 9 mil), and found out too late that it was loaded. Oh, and it was loaded with a hollow tip bullet which is the best thing to be shot with (not). Fortunately for him, he missed all the bones – which is nearly a miracle IMHO. (more…)
