Well I have to admit that life’s been a bit crazy lately. That, combined with my hosting server being less-
than-reliable the last few weeks has resulted in no new postings/photos. I’m now on a week or so break between Summer and Fall Quarters, and my server seems to be back up to normal, so I’ll try to get back into the scheme of posting weekly and keeping you up to date with my photos.
To bring you up to speed on what’s been going on the last few weeks, I’ll have to go back to Labor Day Weekend… My parents decided to go to Mexico for a week, but it just so happened that Stephen had that weekend off (as did I), so we all headed over to Ephrata. Stephen actually went over on Wednesday with Heather, and we came over Thursday night (I took Friday as a VACATION DAY!).
Friday (9/1)
All Friday we sailed the Catamaran on Moses Lake. That was quite some
thing!!! It was a pretty windy day (especially for people who have little or no clue how to sail). lol I ended up going out with the guys (Stephen and Tobin) on the first sail. We were going a bit slow and Stephen was quick to blame me for that (apparently he thinks the Cat can only handle two people at a time, not three). Right as he said that, we caught the wind JUST RIGHT and started FLYING!!! I’m serious – I was so scared! Then we got up on one pontoon – and it started HUMMING! Stephen called it the “Hobie Humâ€. Wow, I was terrified, and gladly jumped off when Brian brought over their ski boat. Yep, Heather’s family/neighborhood kids vacationed in Moses for the extended weekend – so we hung out with them on Friday. In fact Laurie, Heather’s mom, cooked up an AMAZING dinner on Friday night (after a long day of having fun). It totally hit the spot.

Saturday (9/2)
Saturday, we weren’t sure what to do – and
as a result we spent much of the day doing nothing (which was nice). We finally ended up walking down to Rock Park, where we ran into my aunt Suzie and her two girls (who I haven’t seen in ages). We visited with them for awhile – that was fun. After they left, we all drew pictures on napkins. Ha, ha. We walked home and decided to make our own Slip-n-Slide. Of course this required a trip to WalMart (after all, what doesn’t?). We ended up making the Slip-n-Slide out of a tarp, dish soap, and lots of water. My parent’s backyard has three levels, so we had the tarp go from the top level to the second level. The guys got going so fast that they nearly ended up on the third level a few times (not good as it’s graveled with a wood pile and fence that wouldn’t make a very good bumper). Poor Rhys had bruises all over from sliding on the grass.
Saturday night we played several games of
Tile Rummy and Who What Where. Both games were fun but Who What Where was especially funny. Want to know how to play? Comment on this article and I’ll tell you.

As you know if you read my blog at all, the only stuff worth writing about in our lives happens on the weekends (except for youth, but we keep a separate website for that!).
Friday (9/8)
So fast forward to the next weekend (Sept 8-10). Brock’s band, Seventy Six, had a gig in Auburn. We went and watched them – it was pretty fun – they’re really good (love your lyrics, Brock!). Family and good music – what more could you ask for?

Saturday (9/9)
Brock’s gig was on a Friday night. The next morning, Tobin and I woke up and decided to rid ourselves of the Bimmer once-and-for-all. We figured the best way to do this would be to trade it in on a newer vehicle. And that’s exactly what we did. Yep – we have now completed our second vehicle purchase as a couple – say hello to our new 2005 Dodge Magnum! Tobin’s christened it Vader. We love it, and we now can say that we own two (yes two) Dodge Station Wagons. Well I guess Dodge doesn’t want to call the Magnum a Station Wagon but rather a Sports Touring Wagon (it’s a station wagon). Tobin loves it ‘cause he fits in it. It’s quite a bit bigger for me to drive than the Bimmer, but I’m not complaining.
I was a bit sad to see the Bimmer go (I loved the look of that car), but happy all the same to have it gone.
You guessed it! We have pics of the Bimmer and Vader in the gallery. Check them out!
I haven’t mentioned it up to this point, but one of the major reasons I’ve been so busy the last few weeks has been due to finals at City University. I had two online courses this summer, and the last two Saturday’s I’ve had to take finals (at 8am). Combine this with final projects, and I’ve been one busy girl (not to mention that work has been especially busy).
Saturday (9/16)
So we’re now to this last Saturday (the 16th). I started it off with a final test, then Tobin decided we needed to drive our new wheels to Wenatchee. After a stop by the Auburn SuperMall (I only bought a pair of sunglasses for myself – and a matching set for my sister), we headed off to Wenatchee where we met up with my sister and her boyfriend, Rhys, and gave them a ride in Vader. (They were impressed.) We ended up going to Costco for fuel, then meeting my parents at the East Wenatchee Mall. From there we went down to the water and skipped rocks. Rhys had to leave for his dad’s birthday party, and the rest of us went to the Royal Fork for dinner. Yum! From there we said our goodbyes, and Tobin and I headed home. I think we got in around 9:30 or so – but went right to sleep.
Check out our Wenatchee pictures.
So that’s what’s been going on in our lives. Now you’re all up to speed! See you next week!
