Wow…

OK, so I’ll admit I didn’t watch the Republican National Convention last night as I was watching (ahem) Top Model.  But I read the comments on Little Green Footballs about Sarah Palin’s speech and went looking for it.  I found the speech and the transcript and just finished reading it.  Wow.  I’m excited for the election.  :)

Favorite quotes from the speech:

In politics, there are some candidates who use change to promote their careers. And then there are those, like John McCain, who use their careers to promote change.

But listening to him speak, it’s easy to forget that this is a man who has authored two memoirs but not a single major law or reform - not even in the state senate.

Tobin and I attend an AG church in the greater Tukwila area, and Sarah Palin’s AG.  Interesting.  Here’s a video I found about her talking at the Master’s Commission at her home church at Wasilla AG.

Favorite quotes from the introduction:

This person loves Jesus with everything she has.

Governor Sarah Palin is the real deal.  She loves her husband like no one else, she loves her children like no one else.

Today’s a good day.  :)  Another quote from the interwebs…

On that stage last night, Sarah Palin represented everything the feminist movement claims to strive for: a successful working woman with a happy family life and a husband who helps raise the children. Yet, rather than hailing her accomplishment, the feminist establishment has sat by silently as she’s savaged for being a working mother.

Turns out old feminism is really just a bunch of good ‘ole girls telling you what to think.

A Feminist Dream at the GOP

I did flip over to a news station that was airing stuff about the Convention…  They said that Fraudwire had issued her own ad that was to run during the Convention.  They played it and I had to laugh.  The whole ad was comparing Rossi to Bush - on all the points where they were similar - except for the fact that they were all the points WHY I vote Republican - voting anti-choice, anti stem cell research, abstinence based sex ed…  lol  Go Rossi!

On the other hand McCain created an ad comparing Palin and Obama.  She’s got so many more qualifications than him. The Dems must be sweating bullets that she’s better qualified than their presidential nom.

Oh, and I read a pretty interesting article the other day on the Wall Street Journal - Open Mic Night at MSNBC.  It thought the non-Christian perspective of Christian perspective (down near the end) was interesting.

Man, I totally agree. I watched with an excited hesitancy. She sounded great when she was announced last Friday. She sounded so awesome that I had goosebumps last night. I still have a hesitancy but there is an even greater excitement. I want to see how she holds up in a debate and how she holds up in on-the-spot interviews. If last night is any indicator then look out Obama Bin Biden.
