Dash Point
Another sunny Saturday – another hike! :) OK so our GPS let us down a little this time. Technically it did get us to the park – but to the park boundary! Rather than a leisurely park and walk to the beach we actually had a real hike (along unmarked trails – thanks City of Federal Way). So yeah, good thing there were other people on the trail – we for sure would’ve gotten lost trying to get to the beach. According to Buddyrunner on my phone, the hike down to the water was two miles (and it wasn’t that bad when we figured out what trail to take). The beach was nice but the tide was coming in so we didn’t spend a terribly long time on the water – just long enough to snap a few pics.
Problem was, the hike took too long for poor little Eva and she had had enough right about when we were going to turn around. So we sat down on a picnic bench, and I borrowed Tobin’s jacket and wore it backwards as an improvised nursing cover – and nursed Evangeline who promptly fell asleep. lol The adventures of new parents. What to do? Well I set up the GPS on Tobin’s phone so he could navigate back to the actual park – and then he ran the 2 miles uphill back to the car, and drove it down to me. By the time he made it back Evangeline had woken up – and I put her in the backpacker and met Tobin in the parking lot. It was a little more of an adventure than we were bargaining for, but at least we got a workout (especially Tobin!). :)

It was fun! I liked the hike, the run uphill was a bit fatiguing but good for me. :) I liked the scenic car ride back home driving by Thomas Kinkade’s gallery in Federal Way “The Cinnamon Bear Castle”. :)
The run back was good for you. :) But thank you for doing that for us. Such a good daddy/husband. :)
