Claire Marie
Welcome Claire Marie! :)
Stephen called me on Saturday morning saying that Heather was in labor and they were going to head to the hospital. After some debate we decided to drive to Moses Lake. :) (We figured we’d miss Claire being born and would just come see her the following weekend.) Three hours later we made it to Moses Lake and Claire still hadn’t been born (this was about 1pm). Stephen and Heather asked for me to be in the room with them as Heather labored and I agreed. The only other time I’ve been in such a situation was when I was HAVING Evangeline so this was a pretty new experience for me (and not nearly as painful lol). I stayed in the room for about an hour – Heather was fully dilated when we got to Moses Lake so I’m not exactly sure why we had such a long wait… Anyways… Once Heather was allowed to start pushing the baby came pretty fast (maybe a half hour tops of pushing). I was right there the whole time – trying to give Stephen some moral support and trying to be Heather’s cheerleader (she did great – of course). It was so amazing to be in the room when Claire was born! Birth is such an AMAZING thing! Claire was perfect! The nurse handed Heather the baby and Stephen told them he didn’t care to cut the cord – so the nurse asked if I would like to – and of course I agreed. That was pretty cool too! Thanks to Stephen and Heather for allowing me to be part of such an AMAZING event. Wow!
After Claire was born I stuck around for a few minutes and snuck some shots and then had to leave (we could only have a few people in the room at a time), so others could come see Claire! At some point Evangeline met her and that was SUPER cute! I’ve posted the video of that below.
We are SO excited for Stephen and Heather! Besides becoming Christians and getting married, becoming parents has been the best thing that has happened to us, and we’re so excited that Stephen and Heather now have this new and wonderful aspect in their lives. Congrats!
