Hike & Sculptures

Wednesday, September 26th, 2007

Basketball is just getting into full swing for my sister, Margie Lou. She came to the realization that Basketball is going to basically dictate her life from now ’till March or so, and if she wanted to spend a weekend away from Salem, she was rapidly losing her chances to do so. So a few weekends ago, ML and her boyfriend Kevin, visited.

The first Thursday of the month is free night at the Seattle Art Museum, so Tobin and I headed up to Seattle and checked it out (another art field trip for his Master’s class).

Buchmanns & Baby

Wednesday, September 5th, 2007

Tobin started his first day of school yesterday, so as you can imagine, he spent most of this last weekend working on getting ready for that. Monday was no different, except for the fact that this time I went with him. We worked in his classroom ’till 2 or so – by which time I had finally convinced Tobin that he was as ready as he was ever going to be, and it was a holiday for me, and I wanted to do something fun! :) So we ran home, showered, and headed off to Dusty and Kristen’s house.

Fritsches, Flicks & Asian Art

Sunday, September 2nd, 2007

Tobin’s taking two masters classes this quarter. For one of them he has to go around and look at local art museums, etc. Yesterday was the free day at the Seattle Asian Art Museum, so we went. Keep in mind that Tobin and I went to Asia a few years ago and took in such things as the Terra Cotta Warriors, the Huaqing Hot Springs, and the Great Wall… So a lot of the stuff we saw looked a bit familiar to the things we saw in China and Thailand.
