Birthday Pics

Thursday, March 13th, 2008

So I had a birthday last month (if you haven’t noticed, I’ve been so busy with Tobin’s National Board that I haven’t had a chance to update my website for quite some time). I turned 27 – starting to feel old. At least I’m not in my 30′s – yet (like Tobin). :)

My Husband

Friday, January 25th, 2008

I took this shot of Tobin the other day at Staples… He laughs every time he sees it, so I thought I might as well stick it up here on the website for all to see. :)

New CDs!

Friday, January 25th, 2008

cds_small.jpgSo I’m now pretty much playing the piano every week for youth now that Christina is gone. (Well except for last week when it was Illuminate:Unplugged). :) I’m also picking up the bass to play on the Church’s worship team, so as you can imagine, there is a bit of a focus for me right now – on worship. With that focus is a desire to learn some new songs and incorporate them into our worship, so I got on Amazon the other night and started ordering. :) (Actually if you really must know I did all of my windows shopping on iTunes and then bought the physical CDs from Amazon.)

What did I get?

The whole reason I even ordered one CD was because at Winter Camp, Tobin heard a song he really liked. He couldn’t remember what song – or even what it sounded like, but in my perusing of iTunes I stumbled upon it, and he immediately started singing and told me he wanted the CD. :) The song was Counting on God by Desperation Band. It’s pretty catchy.

Before and After Work

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

I was a bit late in getting to work today – in part due to the fact that yesterday was TUESDAY (our big day). We could not drag ourselves out of bed at a decent hour we were so tired (but youth last night went great!). Anyways I noticed the moon was gorgeous as I drove to work, so I decided that if it was still above the horizon by the time I hit Des Moines, I’d drive down to the water and take some pics before going to work. (For some reason I actually had my nice camera with me today.) Well the moon was still up and I took some pics of that and some gorgeous pics of the Mountain but boy was it cold!

Illuminate 2008

IMG_0749

It seems that 2008 has been busier than ever! Tobin and I assumed leadership of our youth group, Illuminate, right before the end of the year and man there has been a lot of responsibility that has come along with that. More meetings, more activities – you name it! But it’s been good.

The same week we had our first youth meeting we also took the kids to a Winter Camp with Angle Lake’s youth group. Fortunately Pastor Mark Miller had done all of the planning, and really all we had to do was supervise the kids (and I played on the worship team). The camp went well, and the last day I snapped some pics (OK to be truthful, I snapped tons of pics the whole weekend – but those can only be found on the Illuminate site – whereas these pics were a bit more serene and artistic). The camp was at Lakeview Retreat Center in Auburn, WA, on Five Mile Lake.

The End of ’07

Thursday, December 27th, 2007

I haven’t really thought about New Year resolutions, but I am thinking that one thing I’m going to have to add to my list is blogging more regularly! Let’s see, the last time I blogged, I had just landed in Salt Lake City for Tobin’s brother’s wedding. Why didn’t I write more you ask? Well because I got super sick. Yeah, story of my life. I was fine Thursday but come Friday night I started feeling really sick, then for the wedding (that – combined with the rehearsal – I took 700+ pics at), I was running a super high fever. Ugh. I didn’t really feel better ’till the last week or so as my sinus congestion has finally decided to die down, and I only have a straggling cough. So what happened in this time I was sick? A whole heck of a lot! I’ll discuss them below. (more…)

Touchdown

Friday, December 7th, 2007

We landed all safe and sound in Salt Lake City. We’re here for Tobin’s brother’s wedding on Saturday…

I took this pic on the plane shortly after taking of from Seattle. I thought it was so gorgeous! I always love being above the clouds! Anyways, our trip here was uneventful (just seemed like a hop-skip-and-a-jump from Seattle it hardly took any time at all to get here). We did go through rain in Seattle, and then snow shortly before landing here in Salt Lake City (it hasn’t snowed yet since we’ve been here, but it has rained). The snow was super sparkly! I had a great time just watching it zip past my window. :)
